Move More Community Coach (Holiday Programme – Sessional Contract)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Move More Community Coach to plan and deliver fun, engaging and developmental sessions within our holiday camp programme.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Jersey Sport provide opportunities for children to be active in the school holidays by providing fun and active camps across the island. You will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team, with responsibility of delivering, fun, engaging and developmental sessions within our holiday camp programme.

As part of the team you will be responsible for delivering the holiday camps and ensure all participants enjoy their experience of sports and activities. You will undertake a wide range of planning and delivery aligned to the Jersey Sport objectives to increase physical activity levels and physical literacy of children. You will ensure organisational standards are maintained, including health and safety and safeguarding procedures. You will also work with the Jersey Sport team to regularly review and improve the programme.

The role will also involve signposting participants to other initiatives, as appropriate, and supporting participants to live active lives. Within the role you will have the opportunity to impact children’s lives at a young age and help them scope their interest in life long physical activity.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING 

  • A national governing body sporting qualification in sport at Level 1 but preferably Level 2.
  • Practical coaching or teaching experience.
  • Vision, motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work with diverse groups of young people.
  • Knowledge of adult and children safeguarding policies and practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but equally important is the ability to use initiative and make independent decisions when appropriate.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Excellent communication. liaising and interpersonal skills.
  • Working with children/ young people.
