CONDOR SPORTS TRAVEL BURSARY FOR TALENTED ATHLETES

Condor has teamed up with Jersey Sport to help the next generation of Island sports stars by establishing a dedicated travel bursary.

Available for travel from April 2024, the fund enables up-and-coming local athletes to be able to attend events, training, trials and competitions in Guernsey, the UK or overseas by travelling on Condor’s network.

Five individual bursaries of £1,000 are available to athletes across five different sports and Jersey Sport will oversee the selection of appropriate recipients through nominations received from their representative clubs or Associations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for this bursary, the representative Jersey sports organisation nominating an athlete must:

• Provide an individual name to benefit from the bursary in 2024/2025
• Provide evidence the athlete is competing or training within a regional or national pathway for their sport
• Confirm the athlete is aged between 13 and 23 years old and in full-time education (Jersey residents studying full time in the UK are eligible)
• Demonstrate frequent need for ferry travel between the islands or to the UK to support their athlete’s performance and development
• Provide a short description of why the athlete should be chosen to receive the bursary (for example: financial hardship, lack of NGB support, cost of equipment transportation).
