Lorna Kearney

Move More Early Years Coach

Role within Jersey Sport: As a Move More Early Years Coach Lorna delivers and develops educative, positive and fun Toddler Play sessions across the Island. As part of the role Lorna engages with parents/carers to share information around how families can focus on and aid physical development outside of the sessions. Lorna also supports the Family Food and Fitness programme delivering fitness and yoga sessions.

Previous employment before Jersey Sport: Lorna worked for over 20 years within a charity, enabling her to gain extensive experience and qualifications in supporting families and children in crisis. Lorna is passionate about inclusion and in her more recent positions has worked with families and children with additional needs. Lorna is also a trapeze yoga instructor delivering weekly adult and children’s sessions. Lorna volunteers for Laugh Move and Groove delivering laughter yoga and cardio drumming.

High level / sports related qualifications: Lorna holds qualifications as a practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, CMI Management Level 3, Psychotherapist Post Graduate Diploma, Swedish Body Massage Level 3, Domestic Abuse Prevention Advocate Level 3, Hot Yoga Instructor, Trapeze Yoga Instructor, Little Greene Yoga Foundation Kids, Care Certificate Level 3, British Sign Language Level 2, Laughter Yoga Instructor and Happiness Coach.

Hobbies: Lorna likes to keep fit and active. She walks and cycles most days as well as practicing and teaching trapeze yoga. She loves being outside in nature, spending time with family and travelling. As a lifelong learner she is always studying and currently training in cardio drumming. She also volunteers at Age Concern in their Charity Shop and at their fundraisers.
