Jersey Sport launched the Sport Activation Fund in 2024 (formerly the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund), initially made possible through the generous legacy left to local sport by Valerie Guy.
For 2026, investment now combines Valerie Guy legacy monies and funding received through the Channel Islands Lottery, enabling Jersey Sport to invest even more directly into the island’s sporting community.
Sport Activation Funding helps Jersey-based sport organisations turn plans into action by aligning resources, delivering meaningful change and creating more opportunities for islanders of all ages and abilities to take part in sport and physical activity.
During its pilot year in 2024, the fund distributed £100,000 to 17 local sport organisations. A further £179,000 was awarded to 36 organisations across two funding rounds in 2025.
In 2026, the first round of Sport Activation Funding awarded £244,776.95 to 23 local sport organisations, supporting 35 projects across 20 sports.
