About the fund
Travel Funding helps Jersey sport organisations access higher-level training, competition and development opportunities that are not available on island. It can support necessary off-island travel and accommodation for amateur athletes, teams, coaches, officials and essential support roles.
Applications must show a clear need to travel, strong links to recognised pathways or organisational priorities, and benefits for sport in Jersey.
Who can apply?
✅ Jersey-based volunteer-led sport clubs, groups and organisations
✅ Local sport governing bodies and associations
✅ Jersey-based sport or physical activity providers
Individuals, organisations based outside Jersey and applications supporting people who live outside Jersey are not eligible.
Eligibility
Applicants must complete the 2027 Safe & Sustainable Sport Health Check and provide the required documents, including a Strategic Development Plan, latest financial accounts and an Overnight Stay or Off-Island Travel Policy. Requirements and deadlines will be confirmed when the fund launches.
What can be funded?
✅ Necessary off-island travel for training, competition or development not available in Jersey
✅ Transport and accommodation linked directly to approved activity
✅ Reasonable travel costs for essential coaches, officials, parents or chaperones
What cannot be funded?
❌ Travel insurance or retrospective costs
❌ Opportunities that can be accessed appropriately in Jersey
❌ Professional athletes or costs unrelated to the approved travel programme
❌ Activity outside the eligible 2027 funding period
Before you apply
Review your 2027 travel plans, identify why off-island activity is needed, gather estimated costs and supporting evidence, and check that your policies, plans and financial records are up to date.
How applications will be assessed
Applications will be assessed against the published 2027 guidance, including eligibility, the need to travel, pathway and strategic alignment, reach, impact, value for money and supporting evidence.
Timelines
Applications for Travel funding will be available within one round during 2026.

All funding for Travel must be completed between January – December 2026.
