Safe & Sustainable Sport Health Check
Submissions welcome between 5 JANUARY – 30 NOVEMBER 2026
The Safe and Sustainable Sport Health Check helps Jersey’s sport organisations meet recommended standards of good governance and safe practice. Updated for 2026, it provides a clear pathway for local organisations to strengthen how they operate and unlock access to Jersey Sport’s services and funding opportunities.
By completing the Health Check, organisations gain tailored support, training, and resources. The insights gathered also help Jersey Sport understand sector needs and shape future programmes and services that benefit volunteers and participants across the island.
Our goal is simple: to help every sport organisation in Jersey become safe, sustainable, and confidently run.
How does it work?
The Safe and Sustainable Sport Health Check uses a simple Red – Amber – Green rating to quickly demonstrate what level each organisation is operating at against Jersey Sport’s Safe and Sustainable Sport quality governance standards.
- Green status:
An organisation demonstrates strong, safe, and sustainable governance. Organisations renewing their Green status will receive a £400 recognition reward if achieved by 31 January 2026, or £200 if achieved by 30 June 2026. New organisations achieving green status will receive a £500 recognition reward if achieved by 30 June 2026. Green-status organisations gain access to Jersey Sport’s programmes and services, and can make applications our funding opportunities. - Amber status:
An organisations meets the minimum recommended governance standards. Amber-status organisations can apply for funding opportunities, but will have conditions placed on any successful awards that must be met before funding can be distributed. Jersey Sport provides guidance and support to help organisations attain a Green status. - Red status:
An organisation does not meet minimum recommended governance standards. Red-status organisations cannot access funding opportunities until improvements are made, but the Jersey Sport team will work closely with these organisations to attain an Amber and then Green status.
Note: Only not-for-profit and charitable sport organisations are eligible for the financial recognition reward.
