Sport Programmes Manager
Role within Jersey Sport: To create a proud sporting nation where all islanders can play sport to the extent of their ability and desire. Libby supports local Sport Organisations to provide more sporting opportunities, with a focus on engaging underrepresented groups in sport. To do this, she further develops a strong, vibrant, well-supported sport scene by promoting robust and sustainable Sport Organisations in Jersey, who offer high quality and safe experiences in sport.
Working closely with a number of key stakeholders, like National Governing Bodies, World Federations, Government of Jersey and local organisations who provide services and support to sport, Libby ensures clear pathways and plans are in place to develop sport opportunities which are accessible to all islanders.
Previous employment before Jersey Sport: Prior to her appointment, Libby worked as a Mentor for the Government of Jersey’s Skills Jersey team. This allowed her to develop her stakeholder management and interpersonal skills which she transfers into her current role working with sports and stakeholders. After holding numerous sport volunteer roles locally and overseas since 2014, Libby holds coaching, committee and administration roles at her childhood club Jersey Wanderers FC and the Jersey FA, whilst combining her passion for sport and oversees aid as a Director for the Jersey 2 Africa 4 Football Foundation.
High level / sports related qualifications: Libby has held a passion for sport since a young age, playing and coaching a multitude of sports locally and further afield over the last twenty years. Libby is a Level 2 Football Coach, Level 1 Trampoline Coach, Level 1 Volleyball Coach, and holds a number of professional development qualifications, including a Level 5 Coaching & Mentoring Diploma, Level 3 Award in Education and Level 5 TEFL accreditation.
Hobbies: Libby loves being involved in local sport whether that be participating, coaching or supporting from the stands. When Libby isn’t around a sport activity, you’ll likely find her at CrossFit or making the most of Jersey’s beautiful coastlines.
