Statement from Jersey Sport

Wednesday 31 March 2021

Jersey Sport today announces that James Wileman will be stepping down from his role as Head of Corporate Services at the end of May, though he will continue to act as an advisor to the organisation.

James was initially employed by Jersey Sport on a short-term contract whilst Catriona McAllister, the CEO of Jersey Sport, is supporting the Government of Jersey to lead the recently announced sports facilities project, entitled “Inspiring Active Places”.

Catriona McAllister said: “During his time at Jersey Sport, James has made a very positive contribution, but another opportunity has arisen for him which he is keen to pursue at this time. We wish him well and we’re delighted James will continue to assist us after he has left.”

James Wileman said, “I’m sorry to be leaving Jersey Sport after such a short amount of time – I joined on a 12-month contract but as sometimes happens, an opportunity has presented itself which I just can’t ignore. My belief and passion for Jersey Sport’s vison remains unchanged and whilst I can’t commit to a full-time role anymore, I’m pleased to be able to offer my skills and experience where I can and will remain as an advisor to the organisation.”

Jersey Sport Chairman, Phil Austin said: “Jersey Sport would like to thank James for his contribution to the organisation during his time in post and look forward to continue working with him whilst he embarks on his new venture”.
