A series of family play days will be running this summer from 26 July to 23 August, to encourage more families to enjoy some valuable time together, playing in some of Jersey’s excellent play parks.
Following the success of Jersey Sport’s first Play Day, organised last year to tie in with National Play Day on 7 August, this year Jersey Sport are organising five Friday Fun Play Days at various play parks across the island. The play days will take place on Fridays from 11:00 – 14:00, for children aged up to eight years old to enjoy with their families.
David Kennedy, General Manager at Jersey Sport said, “the Friday Fun Play Days are designed to be fun and give young children the opportunity to be creative and develop new skills. It’s another example of Move More Jersey in action – helping to combat the issue of inactivity within the island. And we’re delighted to have increased the number of plays days to five this year, following the success of last year’s event.”
81% of children in Jersey do not reach the World Health Organisation’s recommended guidelines for physical activity, so the Move More Jersey Friday Fun Play Days will help to enable children and their families to be more active outdoors.
Friday Fun Play Days will take place at the following parks, on the following dates:
• Millennium Park – Friday 26 July
• Elephant Park – Friday 2 August
• Coronation Park – Friday 9 August
• Parade Gardens – Friday 16 August
• Howard Davis Park – Friday 23 August
