Move More Adult Instructor – Zero Hours
Jersey Sport is committed to increasing participation of the least active and underrepresented groups. Our aim is therefore to provide developmental, diverse and inclusive opportunities for all islanders to be active, particularly those who wouldn’t otherwise access sport or physical activity.
The Communications and Media Coordinator will work with a variety of stakeholders to develop and improve the organisation’s recognition and promotion of local sport organisations and the opportunities that they provide for islanders. The Officer will also be responsible for ensuring that these communications are delivered in an inclusive, engaging and impactful manner that informs and inspires all users. This role also has a pivotal responsibility to oversee the promotion of all Jersey Sport activities and the signposting into wider community opportunities.
This role will include the management of relationships with stakeholders in the media, whether that be directly with volunteers, partner organisations, public sector colleagues, or general meetings in the sector. The Officer will also be responsible for leading the organisation’s internal communications, tasked with developing a collaborative and transparent culture of open communication.
In addition to being able to demonstrate the organisation’s core behaviours and the specialist competences required of the role, the post holder will be routinely required to perform a number of specific tasks. In addition, the post holder is required to carry out any task necessary to ensure the organisation continually delivers exceptional service to our customers. The job-specific tasks are detailed below.
1. Collaborate with management in the implementation of an effective communications and media strategy based on our target audience.
2. Manage, develop and continuously improve the organisation’s communications (internal and external) and social media functions.
3. Develop, manage and present new podcasts to promote the organisation and the wider sports community.
4. Manage, develop, and continuously improve planned and targeted promotional campaigns that ensure the work of sports organisations in the island is publicised and recognised appropriately. Seek opportunities to enhance the brand’s reputation and coordinate publicity events as required.
5. Manage, develop and continuously improve promotional campaigns that ensure Jersey Sport programmes and opportunities are appropriately accessed.
6. Positively contribute alongside the wider team to embed inclusivity throughout all communications both internally and externally.
7. Positively contribute alongside the wider team to providing communications and media support and upskilling for local sport organisations.
8. Manage, develop and monitor the performance of the communications and media strategy through the development of key performance indicators and robust reporting procedures. Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
9. Ensure that all communications are delivered in adherence to the Jersey Sport Safeguarding and EDI policies.
10. Assist the Senior Leadership Team with tasks such as financial budget management, contractual agreements, data collection and reporting as required by the organisation.
11. Alongside the wider team, continue to build, develop and manage effective relationships with stakeholders across the media as well as sport organisations and wider communities.
12. Assist the organisation with any other relevant tasks as deemed appropriate by management, as and when required.
