Jersey Sport are extremely proud to be hosting An Audience with the British & Irish Lions Charity Gala Dinner on Tuesday 15 June 2021, at the Royal Jersey Showground, during the squad’s training camp ahead of their tour of South Africa.
Funds raised from the dinner will be used by Jersey Sport to enable young people in Jersey, who may not otherwise have the opportunity, to access sport at all levels in order to become the stars of the future, or simply to become more physically active.
Tables to the fundraising dinner sold out online in just over 10 minutes last week, but now 20 lucky islanders are being given the opportunity to attend the dinner, free of charge, by entering an online community ballot launching tomorrow.
Phil Austin, Chairman of Jersey Sport, said: “Jersey Sport is a charity itself and so we are delighted, through support received from a generous resident, to be able to give islanders the opportunity to attend the dinner at no cost, sitting on one of two community tables. Guests will get to hear first-hand accounts from members of the British & Irish Lions – undoubtedly some of the world’s most celebrated sportsmen.”
The community ballot will be live on the Jersey Sport website from tomorrow until Monday 24 May 2021 and 20 lucky islanders will be selected at random to win one of the 20 free tickets available.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket to the event last week – the fundraising evening will help us to inspire the next generation of island sports people at all levels, from grassroots to greatness.
Islanders can enter the community ballot for the opportunity to win a ticket to An Audience with the British & Irish Lions fundraising dinner from 12 noon on Friday 21 May 2021, at: jerseysport.je/charity-gala-dinner. Entries to the ballot will close at 12 noon on Monday 24 May 2021.
