Great turnout for first Sportability Family Fun Morning

Saturday 21 July 2018

Dozens of children with disabilities, and their families and friends, joined in the fun at Jersey Sport’s first “Sportability” at FB Fields this morning.

The free event gave children the opportunity to try games and sports such as martial arts, short tennis, skittles and boccia.

It was also a chance for Jersey Sport coaches to learn more about which sports are popular, so the organisation can look to offer more, regular opportunities in future.

“We were delighted with the turn out and to see so many smiles on so many faces,” said Jersey Sport Community Programmes Officer Dan Garton.

“Disability shouldn’t be a barrier to taking part in sport and it was brilliant to see the children enjoying activities which they perhaps hadn’t tried before.”
