Commonwealth Games: Duquemin into final and Le Cheminant in medal contention

Team Jersey competitors put in some more impressive displays in Gold Coast overnight, as the Commonwealth Games heads towards its final weekend.

Discus thrower Zane Duquemin threw 57.66m to come fourth in his heat and qualify in 11th spot for Friday’s final.

Meanwhile in the shooting, after day two of the Queen’s Prize Individual finals, Barry Le Cheminant lies in 4th place, with a score exactly equal (254-32v) to the third place competitor. David Le Quesne is in 11th spot in the same event heading into the last day.

Jersey’s other shooter in action on Thursday, Sarah Campion, claimed 15th place in the 50m rifle prone final.

Elsewhere, in the Cross Country mountain biking, Rhys Hidrio took 14th position, with teammate Ollie Lowthorpe coming 21st.
