Move More Adult Instructor – Zero Hours
The School Swimming Coach will support the development of swimming opportunities for school children to encourage more islanders to be active and promote the importance of physical activity whilst delivering skills for life. The Coach will deliver the School Swimming provision, whilst also supporting the associated delivery of wider programmes, such as SwimSafe and Adult Swimming provision, as required.
As part of the team, the Coach will deliver programmes which are engaging, fun and create a positive learning environment for all participants. As well as this practical application of skills, the post holder will undertake planning and data collecting tasks that require research, structure and attention to detail.
This role will work closely with the education and sport sectors, including schools, GoJ staff and other third sector organisations to achieve Jersey Sport’s mission to inspire, lead and enable positive wellbeing for all through lifelong engagement in sport and physical activity.
As well as being able to demonstrate the core behaviours of the organisation and the specialist competences required of the role there are a number of specific tasks that will be routinely required of the post holder. In addition, the post holder is required to carry out any task necessary to ensure the organisation continually delivers exceptional service to our customers. The job specific tasks are detailed below:
1.Working as part of the Swim Team, plan and deliver the School Swimming programme and support the associated delivery of wider programmes, such as SwimSafe and Adult Swimming provision, as required.
2. Assist the Swimming and Community Sport Development Officer and School Swimming Lead Coach in various tasks as and when required, e.g. reviewing risk assessments, data collection and reporting.
3. Liaise with the wider Officer Team to ensure consistency of services across all programmes and guarantee the effective use of Jersey Sport resources.
4. Ensure that all programmes are working in adherence to the Jersey Sport Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies, including training, reporting and Standard Operating Procedures.
5. Alongside the wider team, continue to build, develop and manage effective relationships with stakeholders across schools, public health and the wider sports sector.
