Chris first started Rowing in 2021 having previously played rugby with the Jersey Reds Colts. He quickly realised he had a passion for it when he was able to produce erg scores similar to U23 Australian athletes.
After making the change in sport a permanent focus, he placed 3rd in the Men’s 500m 2022 Indoor Championships in Australia, beating members of their national team, including recent Tokyo Olympic medallists.
In 2023, Chris moved to Reading University, widely known as the top sculling University in the UK. That season, he went on to win BUCS Gold and Silver titles, helping the men’s squad to come second overall in the standings.
Looking ahead to 2025, Chris’ focus is on making the GB Beach Sprint team for the European and World Championships, with the ultimate goal of reaching the Olympics.
Chris said, “I am thrilled to be a part of the Performance Sport Programme and hope to showcase Jersey as a coastal rowing powerhouse.”
