Data Protection for Sports Organisations

This interactive workshop aims to support sports organisations in navigating the world of data protection. The session will outline the main principles of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and the obligations of those processing personal information. It will also provide the opportunity for participants to share their experiences of data protection within sports organisations, talk through practical case studies and raise any questions in a supportive environment.

Delivered by the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC), the workshop hopes to support attendees in feeling data protection confident to implement good practice within their sports organisations. The JOIC will signpost the checklists, templates and resources available to help and guide attendees in understanding the “must-do’s” of data protection in a sport-friendly language.

The JOIC will also explain more about their role and functions, from providing the people of Jersey with a high standard of data protection, to practically and ethically promoting the personal information rights of individuals, and carrying out their regulatory role.
