Jersey Sport’s 2025 Funding Opportunities →
Our Community Sports Leaders Level Two (CSL2) courses are designed for young people aged 13+ years. The course is designed for budding young sports coaches and young people who are interested in increasing their confidence and leadership skills through the power of sport.
The course is a nationally recognised qualification which will enable successful learners to be able to lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sport/physical activity, under indirect supervision. Learners will be taught by qualified and experienced Jersey Sport Officers and Coaches who will guide students through four units of work (outlined below) over the course of the week:
Unit 1 – Building Leadership Skills
Unit 2 – Plan, lead and evaluate sport / physical activity sessions
Unit 3 – Assist in planning and leading a sports / physical activity event
Unit 4 – Lead sport / physical activity sessions in your community
Students will work amongst their cohort of peers and experience the opportunity to deliver to younger children within Jersey Sport provision.
This course has been run since 2017 and Jersey Sport have demonstrated, and remain committed to, ensuring all learners are able to access a coaching pathway of their desire following the completion of the course – whether that be opportunities for voluntary work, paid employment and / or further coach education opportunities.
We are currently undertaking a review of the Community Sports Leaders Programme – delivery for Summer 2024 has been postponed until 2025.
REGISTER YOUR INTEREST FOR 2025
In the meantime, we would strongly encourage any young people aged 13-17 years, who volunteer in sport and wish to raise their awareness and understanding of safeguarding to attend our ‘Safeguarding for Young Volunteers’ workshop:
