Details

A workshop designed for Club Welfare Officers, although beneficial to anyone with a safeguarding responsibility.

About this event

Time to Listen is an interactive workshop developed by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU). It was designed to support Club Welfare Officers carry out their safeguarding roles and responsibilities within their respective sports club or association, and build the knowledge and confidence to know how to deal with a safeguarding incident or concern. The workshop will provide the opportunity to discuss a range of topics in a friendly, open and informal environment, as well as providing an opportunity to learn from other Club Welfare Officers.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

– Identify what a club welfare officer does

– Describe how a club welfare officer works with others to create a child-centered environment

– Explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment

– Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice

Participants must be at least 18 years old to enrol, and must have completed the Safeguarding & Protecting Children in Sport workshop within three years before completing this training. The Time to Listen certification is valid for three years upon completions, however CPSU would recommend completing refreshers every 1-2 years to remain up to date.
