A new area of the Jersey Sport website pulls together sports information in a handy and easy-to-navigate one-stop-shop.
Clubs and associations are being encouraged to sign-up via a new section of jerseysport.je, which now allows sports groups to:
“This is a really exciting development for us and for the wider sporting community in Jersey,” said Jersey Sport CEO Catriona McAllister.
“During the process which led to the creation of Jersey Sport, islanders highlighted that there was a need to have a single reference point for sporting activities and events. People can search by sport, or by location, so you can look up what’s going on in your area on any given day or find out when sports events are taking place. It makes it easy for someone looking to take part in sport to find out what’s available, where it happens and how to join in.
“Each group that registers can have multiple admins, making it easy for sports organisations to add their activities and to make sure the information remains current.”
It is expected that the pages, officially launched today, will become the most used on the Jersey Sport website.
“This is a simple and effective new way for people to find out the numerous sporting opportunities that are available in the island,” said James Faudemer from the Tennis Hub in St Clement, which is one of the first clubs to submit information.
“This can only help further increase participation in all sports.”
