Jersey Sport wants you to Get Involved!

Launching this summer is Jersey Sport’s fresh new movement designed to get more people involved with sport. The campaign, Get Involved, is also proudly supported by the visiting British & Irish Lions Rugby squad. Get Involved intends to raise the profile of sport in Jersey, bringing awareness of all the sports clubs, events and opportunities for islanders to get involved with.

As well as players, sport is about supporters, volunteers and coaches. Sport at any level is great for the community, it’s a chance to socialise, get fitter and healthier, get more active and be outdoors. It’s where you can push for a personal best, try something new or help others develop their skills. Most of all, it’s about raising spirits, making new friends and feeling good. Get Involved aims to ignite passion in all aspects of sport, encouraging involvement at all levels and abilities.

Your island needs you to Get Involved – whether you want to play, support, volunteer or coach – or all of them!

Within the Get Involved social media pages, you’ll see several famous rugby faces from the Lions team. This is where everyone taking part is encouraged to share all the ways they’ve got involved. Expect to see the tags #JerseySport and #GetInvolved trending on the island as pace picks up.

Phil Austin, Chairman of Jersey Sport said, “There are many sports available for Islanders to play, but over the last year, sports have suffered. Get Involved will raise the profile of not only mainstream sports, but also lesser-known sports and their clubs and players. And it’s great to have the support of the Lions.”
