Jersey Sport launches Volunteer Recognition Scheme

New for 2025, Jersey Sport are delighted to launch a Volunteer Recognition Scheme to celebrate the island’s local sport volunteer workforce and recognise their contributions and achievements throughout the year.  

Each recognised Volunteer, selected through a short nomination process and reviewed by the Jersey Sport Team, will receive a £200 award for their sport organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the Volunteers that have a genuine impact on your sport organisation and give them the public recognition that they deserve!

How do nominations work?

Any  sport  Volunteer can be nominated, however Jersey Sport will only award funding to sport organisations that have obtained a Green status from Jersey Sport’s Safe and Sustainable Sport Health Check.

Nominations for the Volunteer Recognition Scheme must be submitted by the 15th day of each month via the online survey. Some examples of Volunteers who are eligible to be recognised through the scheme can include:

• Coaches
• Officials
• Committee / Board Members
• Facility / Maintenance Workers
• Catering / Transport Support

How are Volunteers awarded?  

Volunteers awarded through the Recognition Scheme will be announced during the last week of each month. Each awarded Volunteer will receive a plaque in recognition of their outstanding sport contributions, which will be presented by Jersey Sport at the Volunteer’s sport venue. The sport organisation that the Volunteer represents will also receive £200.
