HSBC Breeze Jersey will be riding out in the Christmas spirit on Saturday 21 December, to raise money for the island’s first Jersey Christmas Dinner, for care leavers aged 18-25 years old.
Ladies are invited to meet at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel at 08:45, with themselves and their bikes dressed in a Santa or Christmas theme! Ladies are asked to consider making a donation to this fantastic Christmas day event. Riders should wear something festive, but that is safe to ride in.
The two-hour relaxed cycle route will head towards the east of the island, incorporating cycle paths and quiet roads around the parishes, before finishing back at the FB Fields for a Christmas celebration with hot drinks and mince pies.
Catriona McAllister, Ride Leader for HSBC Breeze Jersey explained, “The Christmas Dinner was first created in Manchester, in 2013 by poet and children’s rights campaigner Lemn Sissay MBE. It provides a Christmas day dinner for care leavers aged between 18 and 25 years old and is really a call for the local community to care for care leavers on Christmas day.
For care leavers, Christmas can be a time which reminds them of everything they never had, so the aim is to provide Jersey care leavers with a Christmas experience they will never forget.”
