Jersey Sport is delighted to confirm the appointment of Tim Pryor as the organisation’s new Marketing and Communications Officer.
Tim joins after nearly a decade at BBC Radio Jersey, where he has most recently been the station’s Sports Editor, presenting the weekly Saturday Sportscene programme and leading the commentary teams. The 32-year-old brings with him a wealth of local sport and media contacts.
“I am delighted that Tim has agreed to join us in this exciting new role. This appointment is a key milestone for Jersey Sport as we look to be a strong voice for sport and physical activity on the Island. Promoting the many great opportunities to play, coach and volunteer in sport is key to inspiring an active Island.
Tim comes with an unrivalled knowledge of sport and sporting organisations on the Island and is uniquely placed to help sports tell their story and ensure that the invaluable contribution sport and physical activity makes to life on our beautiful Island is recognised.” said Jersey Sport CEO Catriona McAllister.
Mr Pryor will begin in his new position at the end of October.
“I must thank the BBC here in Jersey for the opportunities they’ve given me since arriving in the island in 2008,” he said.
“I’ve been lucky enough to report from the Island Games in Bermuda, from above the clouds in San Marino and even turned my hand to half an hour of live bowls commentary at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
“I’ve enjoyed travelling the world to tell the stories of the exploits of Jersey’s sportsmen and women, but now I’m excited about the fresh challenge of helping our elite athletes on the pathway to future successes and generally trying to play my part in creating a healthier Island.”
