SUPPORTIN SPORT FUND
LINDY HOP JERSEY
Lindy Hop Jersey were awarded £1,000 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to host an inclusive, culturally respectful dance event with expert teachers to boost participation, break down barriers, and make swing dancing accessible to all. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 40 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
Lindy Hop Jersey plans to bring two renowned, inclusive dance teachers from Cardiff to lead a community-focused event that promotes diversity, accessibility, and respect for the dance’s cultural roots. Aligned with Jersey Sport’s goals to boost physical activity across underrepresented groups, the event will use gender-neutral language, inclusive practices, and subsidised pricing to break down barriers and welcome all, while also helping to grow local participation through a lead-up beginners’ course and expert instruction.
