Round 1
Jersey Netball Association were awarded £870 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to with an aim to increase netball participation among town-based girls by providing accessible coaching in schools and community sessions.
The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 200 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
This initiative aims to increase netball participation among children—particularly girls in town schools—by providing targeted coaching during PE lessons and after-school clubs, with the goal of building confidence, improving physical and mental health, and creating clear pathways into the sport. By focusing on schools where few girls currently engage in extracurricular activities, the initiative seeks to break down financial and logistical barriers, promote inclusivity, and foster a lifelong love for netball. Additionally, community netball sessions at Oakfield, supported by transport from a central town location, will ensure accessibility for girls who cannot easily travel to existing venues like Les Ormes.
Round 2
Jersey Netball Association were awarded £4,400 in Round 2 of the 2025 fund, to strengthen Jersey Netball by delivering nationally recognised coaching, officiating, and leadership qualifications locally, removing barriers to participation
The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 37 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
Jersey Netball is bringing nationally recognised coaching and officiating courses to the island. This will help grow a skilled, confident, and diverse workforce, making it easier for more people to get involved in netball and ensuring high-quality training and matches for all players.
