FUND AWARDS
Jersey Sport launched the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund in May 2024, with thanks and gratitude to legacy monies left in the will of Valerie Guy.
Our priority is to invest this money directly back into local sport and support the island’s sport organisations to build safe and sustainable sport offers which allow more islanders to get involved in local sport.
The SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund aims to support Jersey-based sport organisations by activating plans, aligning resources, implementing change and creating more opportunities for islanders to be active. This new fund has absorbed the Volunteer Workforce Grant, allowing local sport organisations to apply for financial assistance towards the costs associated with workforce training, qualifications and upskilling through one central fund.
Key details of the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund
- The SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund distributed £100,000 of legacy monies during the 2024 pilot project
- Applications were welcomed from non-government, Jersey-based sport organisations (association, club, group or business)
- In 2025, the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund will distribute £150,000 over two funding rounds
- The SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund has awarded £134,122 to 26 local sport organisations so far in 2025
