Skateboard Jersey were awarded £8,770 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to provide the employment and training of coaches to meet growing demand for inclusive, school-linked skateboarding sessions across the island. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 1,000 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
Skateboard Jersey is seeking funding to employ and train coaches who will be based at the Les Quennevais Skatepark, enabling the delivery of both scheduled and impromptu sessions during school hours and holidays. As demand for inclusive, alternative physical activities like skateboarding grows—especially among students with additional educational needs—having dedicated, trained coaches are essential. With more skateparks planned island-wide and early involvement in initiatives like the Switch Project, the club is scaling up its coaching capacity to meet expanding needs. This grant will help ensure coaching continuity, improve session availability, and support the wider development of accessible, community-based skateboarding programmes.
