Riding for the Disabled Jersey has been awarded £1.790 in 2024 to deliver workforce development opportunities for their instructors. The initiative is expected to directly benefit around 60 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
Riding for the Disabled Jersey are working closely with their National Governing Body to meet the minimum training requirements for affiliation whilst ensuring the safety of their members. Funding from the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund will be used to cover the costs associated with upskilling their volunteers to achieve Emergency First Aid training.
Volunteers from Riding for the Disabled have successfully completed their Emergency First Aid training in line with regulations from their National Governing Body.
The club supports a number of islanders with physical and emotional needs to access horse riding through their inclusive offer and are currently looking for new volunteers to support these sessions. Prior experience with horses is not necessary, if you are passionate about supporting islanders to access new activities – they would love for you to GET INVOVLED!
