JERSEY SURF AND KAYAK CLUB
Jersey Surf and Kayak Club were awarded £671 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to provide a grant to buy a video camera for surf kayak skills analysis, helping develop a competitive team through visual feedback, coaching, and long-term performance improvement. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 12 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
The club is seeking to purchase a video camera to support surf kayak skills analysis—a proven method for enhancing individual performance in the surf environment. The aim is to develop a competitive surf kayak team capable of representing the club at future Home Nations and potentially World Surf Kayak competitions. Video analysis offers three key benefits: it allows athletes to review their technique from an external perspective, receive on-the-spot coaching from local experts, and gain remote feedback from senior performance coaches. This equipment will be a long-term asset for the club, with the upcoming sessions marking the beginning of a wider development programme.
