Jersey Rugby Club (JRFC) were awarded £16,000 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to provide an enhancement to grassroots rugby and inclusivity through a new multi-purpose facility and dedicated community coaching, supporting youth development and sustainability. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 1000 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
The JRFC Community Rugby Officer appointment aims to introduce rugby to primary pupils, support secondary school rugby, enhance access for boys and girls beyond the curriculum, and improve player development pathways, with a focus on increasing participation and progression to representative levels.
As part of a broader initiative to upgrade facilities for the Minis & Juniors (M&Js), JRFC is repurposing a modular unit—generously donated by the Jersey Development Company—to replace ageing sea containers. The new unit will provide essential facilities including storage, toilets, a medical room, and a kit shop, creating a more inclusive and functional space for players, families, and volunteers.
