Jersey Football Association were awarded £11,863 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to provide a project that promotes inclusive football for women and girls by offering walking football for over-30s and recreational small-sided games for ages 12 to adult. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 98 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
This project supports the growth of inclusive, female-focused football opportunities in Jersey through two key initiatives: a weekly Walking Football session for women aged 30+, and a new Friday evening recreational football programme for girls and women aged 12 to adult. The Walking Football sessions offer low-impact activity in a welcoming environment for those returning to sport or seeking gentle exercise, while the recreational sessions provide a fun, flexible alternative to club football—encouraging skill development, social connection, and lifelong participation. Both initiatives directly align with Jersey Sport’s goals of increasing participation, supporting youth-to-adult transition, and promoting gender equality in sport.
