SUPPORTIN SPORT FUND 2025
JERSEY BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
Jersey Basketball Association were awarded £7,750 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to support the Junior Basketball Expansion Plan’s aims to grow inclusive youth participation across Jersey, by expanding access, supporting underserved communities, and developing a sustainable coaching and volunteer network. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 275 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.
The Junior Basketball Expansion Plan is designed to grow and diversify youth participation in basketball across Jersey by increasing access, supporting inclusion, and strengthening the local volunteer and coaching workforce. By expanding opportunities through new training sessions, school partnerships, and 3×3 tournaments, the project aims to engage more young people—particularly girls, teenagers, and those from migrant or low-income backgrounds. It also includes targeted coach and referee training to build long-term sustainability, alongside providing kit and subsidised places to reduce financial barriers. This initiative aligns closely with Jersey Sport’s strategic goals of increasing participation, supporting underserved communities, and developing a safe, inclusive sporting environment.
