Matthew’s competitive swimming story started with Tigers 11 years ago. It began with club competitions and progressed to Island, National and International swim meets.

He has competed at numerous British National Age Group Championships medalling multiple times. Matthew’s favourite experience was the Youth Commonwealth Games where he had the honour to represent Jersey on an elite level International stage.

In 2024 Matthew raced at the Olympic Trials in London. This was an amazing experience, being able to race against some of the best swimmers out there.

He also represented Jersey at the 2023 Guernsey Island Games where Matthew medalled individually and as part of a relay team.

Currently, he is part of the Swim Wales National Program where he has represented Team Wales at meets in Geneva and Lisbon.

Later this year Matthew will be competing at the Orkney Island Games and British National Age Group Champs once again. Further ahead, Matthew’s goal is to qualify for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2026.
