Press Release from July on this family fun run

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), has announced that, in partnership with Super League Triathlon, its RBC Race for the Kids series will be extended to Jersey, with the inaugural event raising money for Mind Jersey.

The RBC Race for the Kids brings together local communities with RBC employees, their families and friends, to raise money for youth-focused charities. The global family fun run, which takes place in cities including London, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Sydney and Hong Kong, has so far raised over CAD $38 million for charities.

The first RBC Race for the Kids Jersey will be held on Friday 28 September 2018 at Elizabeth Marina, and will mark the start of The Super League Triathlon weekend.

Ann Marie Vibert, Head of Banking and Specialised Solutions at RBC Wealth Management, said: “We’re delighted that Jersey will become part of the RBC Race for the Kids family. We’ve had great success and support in other cities that host the event, and we’re excited for our community to be involved.”

“We are looking forward to seeing islanders of all ages and abilities, running, jogging, walking and wheeling the 5km and 2.5km routes, alongside RBC employees, while raising money for Mind Jersey, an incredibly important cause. Partnering with Super League Triathlon as it returns to Jersey, is a wonderful opportunity and we are excited for the RBC Race for the Kids Jersey to be associated with some of the world’s best athletes.” Money raised by Race for the Kids Jersey will support Mind Jersey’s Youthful Minds participation group; ensuring that mental health services listens to the voices of children and young people experiencing mental health problems.

“We’re proud to be supporting the Youthful Minds project for the first RBC Race for the Kids in Jersey,” continued David Bailey, Chief Financial Officer at RBC Wealth Management. “Supporting young people is a key focus for the bank, whether through charitable initiatives or working with like-minded organisations.”

“We are also delighted to continue our relationship with Mind Jersey, following its recognition of our mental health work in the Mind Workplace Wellbeing awards earlier this year. Our partnership demonstrates our shared desire to support and develop the next generation of islanders.”
