Jersey Capoeira Association is a sports club run and managed in Jersey and affiliated to Sul da Bahia Capoeira, Arraial d’Ajuda, Brazil.
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form incorporating; martial arts, percussion, song, acrobatics and rhythm.
It derives from the plantations and streets of Brazil as an expression of emancipation during the slave trade era.
Benefits include; physical strengthening, spatial awareness, confidence, an escape from daily life and union.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Classes run Tuesday 7-8:30pm and Thursday 6-7:30pm in the Methodist Church Hall in St Aubin.
