Aztec Jersey Tristars is a triathlon club for children aged 7-19 years, aiming to introduce the sport of triathlon as well as promote a fun and healthy lifestyle.
Our training sessions are led by British Triathlon Federation (BTF) qualified coaches, under the guidance of Head Coach Chris Stephens and supported by a number of assistant coaches. They run weekly training sessions which can be as fun or competitive as you make it!
The club meet for training at Haute Valle School on Sundays between 9.30 and 11.30 am for a one hour run session grouped by age. These sessions are geared towards improving fitness through a series of drills and fun games.
Athletes 11+ can take part in the weekly track sessions at FB Fields on Wednesday evenings throughout the Winter and Spring.
Children are encouraged to join one of the competitive swim clubs who will develop swimming skills. From June onwards, (once the sea is warm enough), the club then run a series of open water swim sessions on Thursday evenings under the guidance of qualified open water swim coach Vaughan Robinson, supported by the club coaches.
The club hold several races throughout the season, usually a duathlon series through the Winter months and a combination of aquathlon and triathlon races in the Spring and Summer months. All of these events are free of charge to both members and non-members except for the Main Event of the year for which there will be a small charge. In addition there are opportunities to race off Island and funding is available from the club to help with travel costs.
Children age 15+ can undertake a trial to be part of the Aztec Triathlon Academy where they will undertake a comprehensive training programme to compete as part of the BTF Super Series, a sequence of races in the UK competing against the best British Youth Triathletes.
