Jersey Table Tennis Association

Round 1

Jersey Table Tennis Association (JTTA) were awarded £3,750 in Round 1 of the 2025 fund, to provide a summer table tennis camp for kids 8+, led by an experienced coach, to improve skills, fitness, and encourage ongoing participation in their junior program. The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 75 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.

The JTTA are organising a summer table tennis camp during the school holidays aimed at children aged 8 and above, designed to improve their fitness and teach them how to play the sport. An experienced coach will lead the camp, providing 3-hour daily sessions for beginners and younger players, and 5-hour daily sessions for more experienced juniors to help them develop skills needed for local and national competitions. The camp aims to inspire children to continue playing table tennis year-round, join the Jersey Table Tennis Association (JTTA), and participate in our junior training program.

UPDATE

Jersey Sport funding enabled Jersey Table Tennis Association to run a five-week summer camp that benefitted 45 young players across all ability levels. The camp proved transformational for intermediate players, with everyone who attended moving up from Division 4 to Division 3 and continuing with regular training sessions. The programme also attracted three new girls to the sport, one of whom has since become a club member. Perhaps most significantly, the young coach who delivered the camp has stayed on at the club and now leads both performance junior sessions and a popular new adult training programme—turning a short-term investment into lasting club infrastructure.

Round 2

Jersey Table Tennis Association were awarded £4,000 in Round 2 of the 2025 fund, to support a project to continue to provide qualified coaching for adults under 40, supporting regular participation, fitness, and skill development in table tennis.

The initiatives are expected to directly benefit over 50 participants through the award received by the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund.

This project will allow the club to continue offering weekly coaching sessions for adults under 40, giving participants the chance to improve their fitness, learn new skills, and enjoy table tennis in a welcoming environment. With continued support, the club can keep this popular programme running and provide regular, high-quality activity opportunities for the community.
