How does your sports club, association, group or charity ensure all activities take place in a safe, welcoming, and protected environment?

You’ll find information and resources on the quality standards Jersey Sport recommend to create an inclusive, secure, and reliable platform for all sport and physical activity on island, below.

Quality Standard 1

All members are appropriately recruited, inducted and provided with updates to procedures as appropriate.

Recommendations:

  • Clear recruitment and induction process for any sports workforce, which is clearly understood and periodically reviewed
  • Updates are provided to all members as appropriate

Quality Standard 2

Appropriately trained / qualified workforce that meet minimum standards as recommended by relevant National Governing Body/ World Federation.

Recommendations:

  • Accurate records of technical qualifications, safeguarding training and DBS checks
  • Details of ratios etc. are adhered to as recommended by relevant NGB / World Federation
  • Effective communication, promotion and access to relevant training and upskilling events for all of the organisation’s voluntary and paid workforce
