School Sport

Jersey Sport’s aim is to make sport and physical activity more accessible for everyone.

This includes enhancing the school landscape by providing opportunities for children to access high-quality and varied school sport experiences. We do this through a number of structured programmes, working closely with local sport organisations to increase participation and reduce inequalities in sport and physical activity.

School Sport Events

We’re proud to be supporting and assisting with the delivery of Jersey’s Primary and Secondary School Sport Events.

School PE Programme

Jersey Sport provides opportunities for local schools to access coaching support to deliver the provision of physical activity education.

School Swimming Programme

Jersey Sport is responsible for delivering swimming lessons to children in Year 4 and Year 5, within all non-fee paying Government of Jersey Primary Schools.

Cycling Programmes

Since 2020 we have delivered cycling programmes to over 11,000 people, many of those learning to ride for their very first time.

Cycle Without Limits

We have a range of adapted cycles that enable adults and children with disabilities or mobility issues, to enjoy riding in a safe, outdoor space.

SPORTIN SCHOOLS Programme

The SPORTIN SCHOOLS Programme will continue to provide opportunities for more children to experience more sport in schools.

Over the last two years, sports like Skateboarding, Kickboxing and Padel have been some of 21 different sports delivered within 26 local primary and secondary schools, providing new and exciting opportunities for our young people to try sports they wouldn’t usually be exposed to. Having these activities delivered by sport helps promote the community sport pathways for children to keep participating in sport outside of the school setting.
