Grants Advisory Committee Member

Background: Bernard has a technical and design background with a career in business management, sales and marketing. In 1980 he joined the Jersey Sports Council and at present holds the post of Treasurer, during his time on the Jersey Sports Council he has been involved with many States of Jersey committees that have been responsible for the distribution of Travel Grants for sport and continues this work with Jersey Sport Grants Advisory Committee. He has been a delegate for both Jersey Island Games Association and Jersey Commonwealth Games Association and in 1985 he was a member of the “steering group” which went on to form the Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled.

Interests: Bernard is passionate about water sports and was Captain of the Jersey Rowing Club and organised the Sark to Jersey Rowing Race for many years before being made an Honorary Life Member, he is also a keen sailor and a member of the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club and St Helier Yacht Club… he jointly owns a Melges 24 Sportsboat and over the years has competed not only in local waters, but in many National, European and World events.
